About Us

This is the official site of Montgomery City Lines, Inc.

In 2001 two families from Montgomery, Alabama - the
Stewarts and the Donaheys re-incorporated Montgomery
City Lines, Inc., which was formerly the name of the
Montgomery bus system.

Dr. Stewart's grandmother kept a number of old coins.           Dr. Tonea "Tommie" Stewart
She decided to look through the memorabilia at her home one day and came across this coin. She said the token stood out for her as the ultimate symbol of the era.

As a result, Dr. Stewart and Mr. Donahey later introduced the idea to the Board of the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute and instantly received the Institute's support.

"It is a symbol of what we didn't know about our history and what we need to know about our history. Something as small as this was part of the struggle. It is a passage piece to another level of freedom."

On this site we offer authentic memorabilia commemorating the 1955 Montgomery bus boycott
.
